More on Martinez and Animal Rights

The distasteful, inane and, in parts, really revealingly stupid “sequel” column of Al Martinez (Feb. 11) was superseded only by his childishly ignorant and vindictive column of Feb. 1.

I hesitate to dispute some of the obviously ignorant and irritatingly condescending remarks. Many people really do care about the horrendous injustices to animals. They do not need a cause, nor are they “crazed” in the sense implied.

Can’t The Times find an intelligent, informed, interesting columnist? I, for one, am getting disillusioned with this paper. Would The New York Times print Al Martinez’ drivel and pay him for it?
