‘A Ballad for Nicaragua’

Share

Feb. 3 will be known by future generations as a day of infamy.

The defeat in the House of Representatives of the President’s request for funds to aid the Nicaraguan Freedom Fighters is unbelievable, although much expected. No one in the House who voted against the aid should be proud of what he did.

In the name of peace, 3 million people has been condemned to live in slavery for the rest of their lives. Nicaraguans has been denied their right to solve their differences among themselves. Sandinistas will not give up, and some day our boys will have to do what the Nicaraguan resistance was not allowed to. By the House decision, communism has been granted a long life in Nicaragua, and who knows where else in our continent.

The irony of all this is that it was Democrats, who in the name of democracy, commited this atrocity.
