Litton Industries Inc. said it has agreed to sell its Union-Butterfield metal-cutting tools operation in the United States and Canada to Tivoly Inc. of Bebee, Quebec. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. As part of the agreement, Tivoly will get Litton’s Union-Butterfield U.S. operation, which is based in Asheville, N.C., and has manufacturing centers in Gaffney, S.C., and Derby Line, Vt. The U.S. operations have about 600 employees. Tivoly also will get Litton’s Butterfield Canada unit, which employs 175 people in Smith Falls, Ontario.
