Micro D’s earnings for 1987 hit a record $5.5 million, up 82% from last year’s $3 million, while net sales jumped to $352.5 million from $221.4 million, a 59% increase. The Santa Ana-based distributor continued its return to profitability since last year, posting its first full-year earnings since 1984. For the fourth quarter, the company reported that net income rose 26% to $1.6 million, compared to $1.2 million a year ago. Net sales in the fourth quarter were $108 million, up 43% from $75.6 million in the same period of 1986. Micro D is a nationwide distributor of microcomputer hardware, software, peripherals and accessories.
