Former Miss America Bess Myerson took the Fifth Amendment in a New York state court hearing on charges that she and boyfriend Carl Capasso spirited away property from the Long Island home Capasso once shared with his wife. Myerson resigned last year as New York City’s cultural affairs commissioner when a scandal involving her and Capasso surfaced. She was indicted in October on charges that she tried to bribe state Supreme Court Justice Hortense W. Gabel in an effort to reduce the alimony in the Capasso divorce case.
