Kramer Not Guilty of Drunk Driving

A jury deliberated about an hour Wednesday in Minneapolis before acquitting Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Tommy Kramer of a drunk driving charge.

“I’m happy with the decision, but I’m not surprised,” the 32-year-old Kramer said. “That’s the reason I went to court, to prove my innocence.”

Kramer was arrested at 11:30 p.m. July 24 after leaving a restaurant in Bloomington, a Minneapolis suburb.

Three police officers testified that Kramer was weaving in his driving lane and, after he was stopped, had trouble reciting the alphabet and with a balance test.

Kramer refused to take the blood-alcohol test required of people arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, police said.
