The Reagan Administration announced that it has postponed a decision at least until April 19 on whether to retaliate against Brazil for blocking imports of U.S.-made computer software. The move was designed to prod Brazil into taking U.S. interests into account when it issues regulations due on that date on importation of foreign-made software. In response to U.S. complaints, Brazil passed legislation in December allowing American software firms to market their products there, but U.S. officials say tough regulations will be needed to enforce it.
