Officials of the Louisiana district presbytery of the Assemblies of God met in Alexandria, La., to discuss the future of TV evangelist Jimmy Swaggart, who stepped down from his pulpit amid allegations of immoral conduct. Officials issued a statement saying they would make no comment on any decision made. Louisiana church officials had recommended barring Swaggart from preaching for three months, but national denomination officials asked for reconsideration.
