He Can Hear You Loud and Clear
President Reagan appears to be getting the knack of his new high-technology hearing aid.
At the start of a photo session with other heads of state at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization summit Wednesday, the President was spotted putting his hand to his ear.
He then took out a plastic device the size of a credit card and fiddled with it, adjusting the volume control in his nearly invisible hearing aid.
Reagan, at 77 the oldest U.S. President, began wearing the miniaturized device in early February.
He suffered a 30% hearing loss in his right ear many years ago when he was making a movie in Hollywood and a blank was fired too close to his ear.
