Lugar’s Missing Mother, 81, Found Safe in Hotel
Associated Press
INDIANAPOLIS —
The mother of Sen. Richard G. Lugar (R-Ind.), reported missing early Thursday by relatives, was found unharmed at a hotel in Illinois, a spokesman for the senator said.
Bertha Lugar Caldwell, 81, was last seen driving her car late Wednesday in Indianapolis, about 70 miles from the Illinois state line, Andy Fisher said. “We assume that she was driving around and got disoriented,” he said.
Fisher said a doctor probably would examine Caldwell in Indianapolis but that her health “has been fine all along.”
