A list of 21 suspected Nazi war criminals who fled to Canada after World War II has been sent to Canadian authorities, the Simon Wiesenthal Center said. The list, sent to the Justice Department in Ottawa, includes Lithuanians and Byelorussians accused of persecuting and killing Jews during the Nazi occupation of their territories. “Some of them certainly are dead, and some of them certainly have moved on,” said Sol Littman, head of the Wiesenthal Center’s Canadian office. “The government has the best machinery for locating them and identifying them.” He said the list contains names, birthdates, alleged crimes and the ships that took the suspects to Canada.
