Costa Mesa-based Minter Mark Ltd. has failed to rescue the Clenet from bankruptcy. In late January, the investor group staged a showing of the exotic automobile to drum up investors and announce plans to bail out the troubled car company. But a company executive admitted this week that negotiations have broken off with the trustee for Clenet, which went into Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in April, 1987. Roy Dyer, president of a sister company, confirmed that Minter Mark no longer plans to buy Clenet but declined to give reasons. He also confirmed that Minter Mark has vacated its Orange County office but said the company hopes to get another office soon.
