Lazers Seek to Improve Position for Playoffs Tonight in St. Louis

The Lazers, hoping to improve their chances of making the playoffs, will face the St. Louis Steamers tonight at the St. Louis Arena.

The Steamers (12-30), who have the Major Indoor Soccer League’s worst record, boosted the Lazers’ chances Wednesday night by beating the Wichita Wings, who trail the Lazers by three games for the fourth and final Western Division playoff berth.

The Lazers (20-20) are 4-1 against the Steamers this season. They are a half-game behind the Kansas City Comets and a full game behind the Tacoma Stars, who trail the first-place San Diego Sockers by 9 1/2 games.
