Clippers Face Streaking Trail Blazers

The Clippers will open a three-game trip tonight in Portland, where they have lost 20 consecutive games to the Trail Blazers dating to Feb. 24, 1981.

Coach Gene Shue’s injury-depleted team, which had just nine healthy players in Friday night’s 101-96 loss to the Golden State Warriors, has lost six straight games and 20 of 22.

Forward Michael Cage, who is home with pneumonia, isn’t expected back until Tuesday, when the Clippers play the Houston Rockets at the Summit. Guard Quintin Dailey (groin injury and sore right hamstring) probably will play tonight, but rookie swingman Reggie Williams (sore right knee) is questionable.
