The Singapore Tourist Promotion Board and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore have come up with a Changi Connection plan that gives transit passengers a booklet of discount vouchers that provide hotel, shopping and sightseeing discounts.

Value of the discounts is as much as 50% off hotel rooms, with rates starting around $22, and 15% to 30% off at stores and attractions.

You can get these vouchers, valid for one year from date of issue, until June 30 at Changi Connection counters at the Singapore airport’s transit lounge. The vouchers are available to passengers traveling on any scheduled airline serving Singapore.

Transit passengers can also receive free two-hour motor-coach tours of Singapore, departing at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. daily.

Singapore is continuing its Singapore Explorer Pass that allows unlimited travel on the two major bus systems and a brochure and map detailing places of interest along the routes. This ticket has to be bought in Singapore. A one-day pass costs $5, three-day passes $12.

Since last fall Singapore also has an air-conditioned subway system that offers a relatively low-cost method of getting around the city-state.
