A management group has agreed to acquire Los Angeles-based Fremont Insurance Group from Fremont General Corp and has retained Shearson Hutton Lehman to represent it. A price wasn’t disclosed, but Fremont Insurance said it will consist of cash and debt and equity securities of the acquiring company. The completion of the transaction is expected by mid-year.
