Seattle law enforcement officials have formed a task force to combat Los Angeles-based gangs pushing into Seattle to sell “crack” cocaine and other street drugs.

Seattle police say that members of the Bloods and the Crips gangs from the Los Angeles area are selling crack, a crystalline form of cocaine, in the Puget Sound area.

The announcement by U.S. Atty. Gene Anderson in the Washington city expands and formalizes an earlier agreement under which federal agencies agreed to help Seattle police fight the city’s crack problem.
