A ground-breaking ceremony is planned Monday for the Jewelers Mall of Los Angeles at 625 S. Hill St., a $25-million facility being developed by the Western Jewelry Mart Partnership.

The facility, designed by the Nadel Partnership and created to serve the needs of the jewelry industry, will feature 52 boutiques, each an individual, luxury-appointed showcase in a “jewelry village” setting that will feature marble floors, pink-and-green granite columns and vaulted ceilings.

Visitors to the Jewelers Mall will have access to a lower level where jewelry craftsmen may be viewed at work. In addition, the Mall will have five floors of parking, 24-hour security and state-of-the-art technology for its tenants.

The ground breaking will feature a symbolic “search for the gold” with children from Para Los Ninos finding a gold nugget with an accompanying check for their Day Care/Playground Center.
