In “Darting Through Europe in a VW Camper” (March 6), by Maggie Walker, it was clear that the author could have saved herself a lot of money and trouble. She would have been more comfortable with a copy of “Europe Free! The Car, Van & RV Travel Guide.” It tells how and where in Europe to safely rent or buy motor homes and campers with guaranteed buy-back for short or long vacations.
It’s also a complete guide to pressure-free, economical travel on the Continent, where the campgrounds are often nicer than the hotels. We’ve tried expensive tours and B&Bs;, but we find this the most enjoyable way to circumvent the soaring costs of European travel.
