$24-Million Drug Haul

ROME —
Police on Sunday seized nearly 50 pounds of pure heroin, worth about $24 million, and arrested two South Africans in the biggest drug bust at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport since 1984. The men, both 22, were en route from Bombay to Madrid when they were arrested. Italian news agencies said the heroin was found during a routine luggage check.
