Before Hansen leaves, she has a few more jobs to wrap up, including public relations work for “Equus,” an independent production that will be opening on the main stage of the Lyceum on April 8 and playing through April 30.

The opening date for “Equus” went through three changes before the April 8 date was announced Monday. That is because the show, initially scheduled for the Lyceum Space, kept getting bumped to accommodate that ever-extending monster hit at the San Diego Rep, “Six Women With Brain Death or Expiring Minds Want to Know.”

Now with “Equus” scheduled for the main stage, it looks as if the April 8 date can be counted on. An April 7 preview is scheduled to benefit the San Diego Center for Children, a center for children with behavioral problems.

“Equus” is also getting Bowery support from Phelps, costume designer John-Bryan Davis and sound designer and resident composer Larry Czoka. In addition, the Bowery’s new producing manager, Mullaney, will be appearing in the show as an actress along with Rosemary Tyrrell, who appeared in the Bowery’s successful “When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder?”

As for “Six Women,” while that show is only being renewed for two weeks at a time (the new closing date is April 10), it is worth noting that the next Space production is not scheduled until May 7 when “Eubie,” a Southeast Community Theater production is scheduled to run three weekends.
