Hallie Calhoun Campbell; Widow of Tribune President

Hallie Calhoun Campbell, 88. A direct descendant of U.S. Vice President John C. Calhoun. She was a native of Kansas who moved to Chicago as a child and married Chester M. Campbell in 1927. He became publisher of the Chicago Tribune and president of the Tribune Co. in 1955, a position he kept until his death in 1960. Four years later Mrs. Campbell married Arthur A. Schmon, director of the Tribune Co. and chairman and chief executive officer of the Ontario Paper Co. Ltd. of Canada. He died a short time later. In Rancho Bernardo, Calif., on Feb. 28.
