A state regulation prohibiting kite flying near airports is being enforced after reports that an 8-year-old girl was lifted off the ground by an air ambulance whose propeller got tangled in the heavy line of the girl’s kite. Officials cited a Public Utilities Commission regulation that bans kite flying within five miles of airports. DeAndra Anrig of Dublin was flying her kite last Sunday at Shoreline Park, two miles from the Palo Alto airport, when she reportedly was lifted off the ground.
