EVEN THE TRENDIEST MEN ARE RETURNING TO CLASSIC STYLES. Down-to-business dressing is very much in evidence, though spring’s tailored clothes are slightly boxier and more relaxed than the conservative suits Michael Douglas wore in “Wall Street.” This season’s touches of verve include multi-pleat pants, worn without braces, in slightly longer lengths that break decidedly at the ankle, and conversation-piece ties in wide, drapeable silk. On these pages are six men who not only excel in their fields, but whose wardrobes reflect their winning personal styles. Each man has a distinct attitude about what he should wear now that he’s got the power, glory and/or money to dress for success. How do they exercise their options for spring? With unmistakable Southern California panache, of course.
