A computer trade show that opens today at the Anaheim Convention Center will feature computer systems tailored to running hundreds of different businesses--from bookstores to attorneys’ offices to cemeteries.

Unlike some larger computer shows, International Spectrum USA ’88 is designed for “business people, not computer people,” says Gus Giobbi, chairman of the San Diego-based International Database Management Assn., the show’s organizer.

Giobbi said the show will feature 80 exhibitors and computer systems designed for 500 different business applications. A few examples: insurance claims processing, Bible research, church membership, food catering, plumbing and construction and property management.

Giobbi said he expects 10,000 people to attend the show, which is in its seventh year. The International Spectrum USA ’88 show is scheduled through Thursday at the convention center’s South Hall. Show hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door.
