Local News in Brief : Immigration Act Hearing

Immigrant rights advocates, business representatives and government officials will analyze the effects of the federal Immigration and Control Act of 1986 in a public hearing Wednesday in Rosemead.
The hearing, scheduled to last from 8:50 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., will be held at Bitely Elementary School, 7501 E. Fern St. It will focus on whether the law has caused dislocation among immigrant families and whether illegal aliens have suffered discrimination in seeking employment.
