About 70 demonstrators angered by reported Iraqi poison gas attacks on Kurds forced their way into the Iraqi Embassy in Vienna, smashing windows and jostling embassy workers. Police said 64 protesters were arrested. Six shots were fired, but police said no injuries were reported. Iran said last week that the Iraqi air force dropped cyanide and mustard gas bombs on three Kurdish towns in Iraq on March 16-17, killing 5,000 Kurds. The towns had been captured in an Iranian offensive. The alleged gas attacks also sparked protests in London, where hundreds of Kurds held a vigil outside the U.S. Embassy, and in Washington on Sunday, where about 100 people stoned the Iraqi Embassy.
