Bell Industries has sold the assets of its computer memory division to International Components Technology Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of Furukawa Electric Co. of Tokyo. The sale was consummated for about $15 million in cash and will result in a pretax profit of $9 million, which will be reported in Bell’s fourth quarter ending June 30. The proceeds will be used to repay a portion of the company’s bank debt. The division, with facilities in San Jose and Eugene, Ore., manufactures aluminum disk substrates used in computer disk drives.
