Lazers Can Clinch Playoff Berth Tonight

The Lazers, winners of three straight, can clinch a playoff spot by beating the St. Louis Steamers tonight at 7:30 in the Forum.

The Steamers (16-35) have the Major Indoor Soccer League’s worst record and have not posed much of a problem for the Lazers, who have won four of six games between the teams this season.

The Lazers (27-24) have outscored their opponents, 25-6, in their last three games.

Should the Lazers win, it would be their first postseason appearance since the 1984-85 season, when they lost three straight in the first round to the Baltimore Blast. The Lazers also made the playoffs in 1983-84, losing in the first round to the Wichita Wings.
