Baby Boomers and No-Growth

Parker seems to think that it’s the oldsters who are against the young owning homes. My wife and I bought our single-family dwelling in 1941. It cost $2,900, financed with FHA. We in Bellflower are having an election against eminent domain for developers. We believe in single-family homes.

The only way young people will ever be able to buy homes is by electing lawmakers who will look after their needs.

I was born and raised a Republican. But voted for Franklin D. Roosevelt and the New Deal four times. If I had not, I would not have been able to buy a home for $2,900. If the developers, and city and county governments can use eminent domain, we won’t have any single-family dwellings left.
