A Dutch theater will defy a ban by playwright Samuel Becket on women performing his play “Waiting for Godot.” The Irish-born playwright told the Haarlem Toneelschuur Theater in a letter that he wrote the play’s four roles for men only and threatened legal action if the theater uses women dressed as men instead, a spokesman said. The play opens tonight.
