Dickey Resigns From Master Chorale

George Dickey has resigned as executive director of the Master Chorale of Orange County after less than one year in the post.

“He was planning to stay only until the end of the (current) season, and by mutual agreement we deferred to his decision to move that date up,” Anne Steinmann, president of the board, said Tuesday. “There was certainly no animosity.”

Steinmann said a search for a replacement is under way.

Dickey assumed his Master Chorale duties in July, 1987, succeeding administrative director Richard Tollefson, who moved to the Los Angeles staff of the Joffrey Ballet in June.
