The Grove Theatre Company in Garden Grove has received $25,000 from the Toyota USA Foundation to help finance its 1988 Shakespeare Festival. The grant is the largest ever received by the 10-year-old repertory company, Grove business manager Rick Stein said Tuesday. The festival begins in June.

The Grove was one of only three arts organizations awarded grants from the foundation, Stein said. Others were the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra ($52,000) and the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco ($25,000). The Toyota USA Foundation was founded in Torrance in 1987 with a permanent endowment of $10 million.

Pianist Brenda Jones, 8, from Yorba Linda; violinist Arden Lee, 11, from Fullerton; violinist William Hsieh, 14, from Orange; pianist Patty Martellotti, 15, from Tustin, and pianist Helen Wu, 16, from Irvine will be featured in a Young Soloists concert being sponsored by the Women’s Committees of the Orange County Philharmonic Society Friday at 8 p.m. at Chapman College.
