American Stores, whose $50-a-share proposal for Lucky Stores was rejected by the Dublin, Calif., food retailer, said it is “prepared to negotiate all aspects of its offer to acquire Lucky Stores.” In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, American Stores said it sent a letter to Lucky Chairman John M. Lillie on Friday, asking that it be “placed on equal footing with other potential bidders with respect to non-public information concerning Lucky Stores.”
