The owner of a La Jolla antique shop was sentenced Thursday to four years in state prison and ordered to pay $130,750 to investors she bilked.

Sonia Daniella Bonge, whose age is anywhere from 48 to 64, according to three different birth dates she gave authorities, operated the Shangri La shop on Prospect Street.

San Diego Superior Court Judge Herbert Exarhos also fined Bonge $10,000.

Two former investors tearfully asked the judge to impose the maximum term. One said she was “robbed” of $25,000, and another said Bonge “has ruined my life and my health.”

Bonge pleaded guilty last month to four counts of grand theft and one count of a security sale violation. She was also charged with forging certificates of authenticity on many of her antiques, but those counts were dismissed.

Among the victims were some who invested thousands in non-existent land.

Her attorney, William Apgar, told the judge that Bonge wanted to make restitution and was “a good salesperson” who could make a living if granted probation. Exarhos denied probation and remarked that Bonge is a danger to the community because of her sales prowess.

Deputy Dist. Atty. John Massucco urged the four-year term, saying Bonge is not remorseful.

Bonge, who lived in Del Mar at the time of the bilkings, also went by other names, including Daniella de Villeneuve, Sonia Foght, Daniella LeBlanc and Simone Renee Quinet.
