Ermolenko Wins 4-Lap Event of Speedway Races

Sam Ermolenko of Cypress won the four-lap main event of the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday night in front of 3,743 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Ermolenko led wire-to-wire, holding off Steve Lucero of Riverside. Ermolenko won by less than one bike length.

Jim Sisemore of Woodland, Calif., finished third, and Keith Larsen of Redondo Beach finished fourth.

In the handicap main event, Dubb Farrell won the eight-lap race as he took an early lead and was unchallenged. Bart Bast of Auburn, Calif., finished second, Ermolenko third and Lucero fourth.

Louie Trotechaud of Costa Mesa won the third division main event and Kelcey Gordon of San Clemente won the second division main event.
