Suspected leftist guerrillas kidnaped and killed the rightist mayor of a small northeastern El Salvador town, a provincial governor said. Gov. Francisco Valenzuela of Morazan province said the mayor of San Isidro, Pedro Ventura, 55, a member of the right-wing Nationalist Republican Alliance, was kidnaped Thursday, and his bullet-riddled body was found Friday. The alliance, known as Arena, won control of the national legislature in elections last month. Valenzeula said investigators believe the gunmen were from the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front.
