Working Retirement

Share

Congratulations on Ruth Ryon’s “Art Linkletter’s Second Career” (April 10). It is gratifying to read about the former TV host’s success as a retiree, so-called. Linkletter’s breathtaking activities should do much to dispel some of the myths of retirement (which, in effect, requires redefinition). How many non-retirees could keep up with Link’s pace? His down-to-earth enjoyment of all that he does should be an inspiration to one and all.

And I was pleased to know that Don G. Campbell, recent retiree from The Times, is now your columnist with his question-and-answer assignment. This should be of benefit all around and another case of what do you mean by using the word retirement , it seems to me.
