The story of how the Frank family hid from the Germans in occupied Holland during World War II has become familiar through “The Diary of Anne Frank.”

On Sunday, “The Attic: The Hiding of Anne Frank” (9 p.m., Channels 2 and 8) tells more of the story, particularly about a courageous Dutch office worker who helped carry out the plan.

Mary Steenburgen plays Miep Gies, who agreed when her employer Otto Frank asked for her assistance in hiding his family from the Gestapo. In the two-hour movie, Paul Scofield plays Otto Frank, and Lisa Jacobs is Anne Frank.
