No Bimbo She

Kathleen Turner declared, in a USA Today profile, “I’d like to play a bimbo.” So Empire Pictures Chairman Charles Band sent her a telegram about the company’s upcoming “Assault of the Killer Bimbos”--and offered the Oscar-nominated actress the lead in the sequel, “Barbecue Bimbos”!

According to an Empire spokesman, “We received a request for the script from her agents and we’re just waiting for a response.”

But Turner’s agent, David Guc, said the script arrived unsolicited : “We received the telegram and thought it was amusing, but Kathleen will never, never do this film. That’s a guarantee.”
