Beverly Hills : House Size Ordinance Hearing

Share

The City Council will have a public hearing on Tuesday to consider making permanent a temporary ordinance that limits the size of houses to 55% of the lot size.

Both the Planning Commission and the City Council have indicated that they are unhappy with the limit but believe that they are forced to adopt a permanent ordinance because the temporary ordinance is set to expire.

City officials said they will later amend the permanent ordinance to allow for a sliding-scale formula that would limit development of houses on larger lots on the north part of the city, while allowing larger houses on the smaller lots in the south part of the city.
