Sen. Wilson and the War on Drugs

I agree 100% with Munoz’s article.

Very often I ask myself, my wife, and my friends why the United States spends millions of dollars fighting drugs abroad when the biggest problem is here. The United States is always blaming the countries who produce the drugs, as if it were their fault for the serious problem of drugs in the U.S.

I remember seeing, not long ago, a program on Channel 28 about the flow of drugs into the U.S. and the production of cocaine in Bolivia. One of the people said, “As long there is a demand for cocaine, we will keep cultivating the coca leaves; when we don’t have anymore demand for it, we will stop doing it.”

All this has a logical solution--we must cut the demand for drugs at home. I know this is not an easy job to do, but at least Wilson should recognize the main problem is at home.
