Ton of Marijuana Seized at Airstrip; 3 Arrested

PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz. —
About 2,000 pounds of marijuana was seized Saturday after the airplane carrying it was followed from the Mexican border to a remote airstrip in northwestern Arizona. A U.S. Customs Service spokesman said that three people were arrested. Authorities put the ultimate value of the contraband at $1.6 million.
