Commodore International Ltd.’s net income rose sharply to $9.6 million in the third quarter. In the year-ago period, income was $1 million. Irving Gould, chairman and chief executive of the W. Chester, Pa., business and personal computer maker, said both an 18% jump in sales and an improvement in margins accounted for the gain.
