Amplicon Inc., based in Santa Ana, reported that net income increased 85% for the third quarter ended March 31, marking the company’s fifth consecutive quarter for record highs in revenue and earnings. Net earnings totaled $2.3 million compared to $1.2 million a year earlier. Third-quarter revenue increased to $24.2 million, up 25% from the $19.3 million posted in fiscal 1987. Net earnings for the first nine months rose to $7.2 million from $3.4 million a year ago. Total revenue for the first three quarters of the fiscal year increased 29%, to $67.4 million, up from $52.2 million in the corresponding period last year.
