Barbra Streisand, in the June issue of Ladies Home Journal, about the “noise” she hears: “I don’t hear voices, but I hear noise. All the time. Doctors can’t do anything about it. I used to put scarfs around my head to muffle the noises, but . . . it only made it worse. It’s annoying and I’ve never gotten used to it. Sometimes when I’m under more stress the noises become louder, but if I’m having a good time I sort of forget it momentarily.”
