Datron Systems Revenue, Profit Increase Sharply

Share

Datron Systems said its fiscal fourth-quarter profit more than doubled from a year earlier as revenue climbed 41%.

Datron, a Simi Valley maker of communications products and defense-related electronic systems, said net income in the quarter that ended March 31 totaled $925,000, or 33 cents a share, up from $442,000, or 16 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue rose to $9.50 million from $6.75 million.

Thomas V. Baker, Datron’s chief financial officer, attributed the improvement to the company completing “quite a few contracts” during the quarter, which boosted Datron’s income as it billed those customers.
