Man Held in Bid to Kill Tex. Mayor
A 74-year-old tax protester who believed that the Constitution gives citizens the right to execute public officials was arrested for trying to hire a hit man to kill Mayor Henry Cisneros, authorities said today.
Parker Abell of Natalia, who once ran for Congress on the Libertarian Party ticket and wrote a book, “The Two-Faced Nation,” was held without bond on a charge of criminal solicitation to commit capital murder. Authorities said he offered an undercover agent $5,000 plus expenses to kill Cisneros in any manner sometime before July 4.
