Woody Austin’s 16-foot jumper with three seconds left gave Concord AAU a 104-102 victory Tuesday night over the Soviet Junior National basketball team.

The Soviets lost for the first time on their current U.S. tour after beating U.S. amateur teams in New York and Hampton, Va.

Austin, Indiana’s Mr. Basketball who will play for Purdue, finished with 18 points for the high school all-star team.

Shawn Kemp, who has signed to play college basketball at Kentucky, had 26 points, 20 rebounds and 5 steals.

Andrey Lukwanets led the Soviets with 27 points.

The Soviets led 64-54 at halftime, but Austin grabbed the second-half tip-off and passed to a waiting Chandler Thompson who gave Concord its first lead of the half.

Thompson’s basket launched a 17-4 spurt that gave Concord a 71-68 lead. Woods had six points in the run.

Concord scored six unanswered points, including four from Thompson, to go up 102-96.
