Monterey Park : Surplus Cheese Offered

The Langley Senior Citizens Center will give away surplus cheese Tuesday to city residents 55 and older.

To obtain the cheese, applicants must come to the center at 400 W. Emerson Ave. between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday and show proper identification, such as a driver’s license or a utility bill, to verify their residence.

Those who qualify will be given a card that must be filled out and presented between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, when the cheese can be picked up. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 1,320 families can receive cheese.
